Greetings:

This letter is being sent to you from the land of forgotten people. We are Hispanics who live in northern New Mexico. We have many family members, friends, neighbors and fellow Hispanics throughout New Mexico. I case you don't remember us; we have been here for over 500 years. We speak Spanish and we always participate in our election process. We tend to vote Democrat but have been known to vote Republican as we see fit.

Our organization, Northern New Mexico Hispanic Coalition, has been around since former Governor Bill Richardson intervened in our primary elections en el norte. We do grassroots volunteer work to get out the vote, we do phone banks, we network, we do family block vote coordination and assist senior citizens to get to the polls. We also do early voting and register young people to vote.

We believe that the Henrich and Wilson campaigns have ignored issues dealing with Hispanics in our state. Neither one of them have addressed housing, compatible education, civil rights, acequias, drug addiction, land grants, Hispanic health and social issues, Hispanic senior citizens and Hispanic veterans. Honestly, we don't expect anything from either one of them. Our gente will once again go into the future without a native Hispanic in the US Senate. Poor Raza, so far from god and so close to Henrich and Wilson. Maybe Wilson and Henrich should campaign in Iowa, Virginia or New Hampshire. At least over there they can mirror their constituents. They have nothing in common with us.

The Democrat party takes us for granted as was proven by the stab in the back when the State Party sold us out in the re-districting and the Republicans use us as their whipping boy every chance they get. Well, no more.

It is with all this in mind that we apprise you that we intend to contact as many of our people throughout Northern New Mexico, the Counties of Otero, Dona Anna, Valencia, Lincoln, Torrance and others, to boycott the US Senate race in New Mexico. Why waste our vote…nothing is going to change for us. Maybe it may be better to just stay home in November.
