Henry~More on Black History Month: The Willie Lynch letter describing best way to control slaves.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++
Yes, we must overcome our fears and any and all remnants of racism or other forms of division. We need to change the way we look at ourselves, change the way we think of others. This involves seeing that we are all of the one family of humanity. This is not just some New Age bullshit. It is an understand that we are all of the same species, that we must also care about all living beings ~the four-legged, the winged and all who are blessed with possessing life.

We can see the demographics and know if Black and Brown people were united together it would be a major factor in transforming the world. Right there we get into: Who is Black? Who is Brown? Who is of what race? Truth is that race is a social invention. Think Spaniard against Indian people, or better, the cultivation of racism by the Spanish Empire against indigenous peoples in what we know of know as America. A true Indian is from India?

Why is the West called the west? Because of our inherited vision of being Europe as the East, thus, making us west of Europe?

The forms of divisions are deep and numerous. Let us start with the idea that we are bonded by our common survival needs: food, clothing shelter, medical care and quality education.

Then we have the realm of economics. I oppose corporate capitalism and advocate democratic socialism and it is hoped the creation of a true peaceful revolution.

We have so many roadblocks and checkpoints on the road to revolution. Minus, we have fools who still think we can merely reform the dying corpse of Amerika!

I will stop here. Attention spans are limited.

Support the Egyptian Revolution! Venceremos! We Will Win!

At that time in 1712, it was really bad, and in 2011 it is not that good for women and for people of color. We all need to keep on fighting for our rights together. We must all go forward as One People. Some of our people need to stop fighting one another and we will be on top. There is so much that we all need to talk about and do the right thing for all of us. It is all about People Power. Thank you for sending this article. I will forward it to my Black sisters and brothers.

Willie Lynch Letter delivered to Slave Owners in 1712.

Gentlemen,
I greet you here on the banks of the James River in the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and twelve. First, I shall thank you , the Gentlemen of the colony of Virginia for bringing me here. I am here to help you solve your problems with the slaves. Your invitation reached me on my most modest plantation in the West Indies where I have experimented with some of the newest and still the oldest methods for control of slaves. Ancient Rome would envy us if my program is implemented. As our boat sailed south on the James River, named for our illustrious King, whose version of the bible we cherish, I saw enough to know that your problem is not unique. While Rome used cords of wood as crosses for standing human bodies along its old highways in great numbers, you here are using the tree and rope on occasion.

I caught whiff of a dead slave hanging from a tree a couple of miles back. You are not only losing valuable stock by hangings, you are having uprisings, slaves are running away, your crops are sometimes left in the field too long for maximum profit, you suffer occasional fires, your animals are killed. Gentlemen, you know what your problems are; I do not need to elaborate. I am not here to enumerate your problems. I am here to introduce you to a method of solving them.

In my bag here, I have a fool-proof method  for controlling your black slaves. I guarantee every one of you that if installed correctly, it will control the slaves for at least 300 years. My method is simple and members of your family or any overseer can use it.

I have outlined a number of differences among the slaves;and I take these differences and make them bigger. I use fear, distrust, and envy for control purposes. These methods have worked on my modest plantation in the West Indies and it will work throughout the South. Take this simple little list of differences, think about them. On top of my list is "age" but it is there only because it starts with an "a"; the second is "color (or shade)"; there is intelligence, size, sex, size of plantation status on plantation, attitude of owner, whether the slaves live in the valley or on a hill, east, west, north, or south, have fine hair or coarse hair or is tall or short. Now  that you have a list of differences, I shall give you an outline of action, but before that, I shall assure you that distrust is stronger than trust, and envy is stronger than adulation, respect or admiration.

The black slave after receiving his indoctrination  shall carry on and will become self-fueling and self-generating for hundreds of years, maybe thousands.

Don't forget you must pitch the old black vs. the young black male and the young black male vs. the old black male. Also pitch the female against the male, and the male against the female. You must use the dark skin slaves vs. the light skin slaves and the light skin slaves vs. the dark skin slaves. You must also have our white servants and overseers distrust all blacks, but it is necessary they trust and depend on us. They must love, respect, and trust ONLY us.

Gentlemen, these kits are your control; use them. Have your wives and children use them, never miss an opportunity. My plan is guaranteed, and the good thing about the plan  is that if you used INTENSELY for one year the slaves themselves will remain perpetually distrustful.

Thank you gentlemen, Willie Lynch, 1712

commentary:
This is a simple plan of racism, sexism and oppression and it is true in our communities and large cities today. People of color and women stand to suffer the most. It is used around the world to isolate us one from the other. It is being used to create chaos within the labor movement so that unity, wages and benefits are suspended (in some cases permanently, or even lost by working people). It is known in the broader sense as how to utilize class differences between the owners and the dispossesed to keep people in slavery.
