I was born in 1951 into a Democratic Party home in Sacramento, California, Aztlan. My Dad is a lifelong Democrat and sons often follow their father's choice of party affiliation. I turned 18 years in 1969, became a registered Democrat, was already political activist and became deeply interested in social politics in general.
In 1960 Kennedy won the U.S. Presidency by the narrowest margin in U.S. history.
John Kennedy ~ Democratic 34,220,984 (49.72) 303 (56.42)
Richard Nixon ~ Republican 34,108,157 (49.55) 219 (40.78)

I suspected President Kennedy was gravitating close to reaching an agreement with the Cuban Regime of Fidel Castro and ending the Cuban embargo shortly before he was assassinated by allegedly dark evil elements within the U.S. government on November 22, 1963. In 1996, President Clinton became the first Democratic president re-elected since Roosevelt in 1936.
All during this time I was a Democrat Party Member, until the year 2000 when liberal consumer advocate Green Party Candidate Ralph Nader ran for U.S. President. I then became a registered Green Party Member. I assumed Vice-President Al Gore would easily win by a landslide against the buffoon George Bush. In a largely symbolic gesture I voted for Nader. However, Gore made a major mistake by not recruiting the popular President Clinton onto his campaign team, and then Gore rolled over when it came to demanding a re-count after the 2000 election. Definitely Gore won the popular vote, but due to the archaic Electoral College System he did not win the actual election. Ralph Nader was looked at by some as a spoiler when the real spoiler was Al Gore's failure to demand a legitimate complete recount of votes cast! Without going into the bizarre details here I believe there was an illegal coup-de-etat in 2000!

Much has happened in the world since my early naïve idealistic days of the 60's; before the AIDs epidemic that stifled loose sexual activity among youth; before the War on Drugs when the Johnson Regime had a War on Poverty that failed miserly in ending poverty; before the 1975 Fall of Saigon in Vietnam when the vulnerability of U.S. Imperialism was demonstrated to all the world; and most assuredly before the dark Tuesday of September 11, 2001.
I remember back when '911' was simply an Emergency Call to local authorities in case of a fire or a local domestic disturbance. Nowadays the number '911' brings up the ghosts and goblins of paranoia and terrorism among many people.
In 2008 I again became a registered Democratic Party Member and supported Barack Obama for President of the United Status as opposed to Republican John McCain.

In January of 2009, after a nearly billion dollar campaign, Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States. I knew he supported the corrupt capitalist economic system but after eight years under Fuhrer Bush in the Oval Office Cabal just about anyone else was a great improvement. Despite Obama' s calm smooth style and polished rhetoric, I already had some fundamental criticisms of the Obama Regime because of continued violations of the basic humane rights of people here and abroad, including immigrant rights and Guantanamo prisoners.
Now tonight, December 1, 2009, Mr. Obama announced before West Point Cadets that he is sending 30,000 more military troops to Afghanistan and setting a time frame for withdrawal beginning in July 2011.

The Afghanistan War will prove to be the Achilles heel of President Obama and his Amerikan Warlords. As first and foremost a humane being, I for one can no longer be a party to the social insanity of an unjust evil war being waged by any regime anywhere. War kills, love heals.
The United States and all the world's peoples have gone through a lot of mass trauma so far this year alone. There are fears, worries and anxieties, including about 2012. We are in tragic troubled times on different levels in many ways. In fact, human beings are really an endangered species!
Much has happened in world history and yet much has stays the same. A perennial law of global corporate capitalism is: the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Both the dominant Democratic Party and the Republican Party are really one two-headed monster that dominates Amerikan electoral politics. The dictum that politics is war without bloodshed and war is politics with bloodshed holds true after all this time. We need to change our perception of politics in a way that empowers the people in the context of a true participatory democracy with proportional representation, which includes the people in all their diversity in important policy making decisions made by local, regional and national officials elected into office.
Now at 58 years old I declare myself as an independent voter, not a registered member of the Democratic Party or the Republican Party. I quit the Democratic Party of the United States!
